At Linen & Needle we do not have boxes of stock ready to buy. We believe that you deserve garments made to fit you, in materials you are comfortable in, designed just as you imagined.
Past Commissions
We have many stages we work through for each project.
These include:
- Patterns are made to your measurements - We work with our own custom measurement sets to make sure it fits just as you need.
- Fabric samples can be sent so you can see them in person - With colour, price and material options.
- Details for each product are carefully worked through - Such as custom dagging, ermine, edging, embellishments and more.
- Embroidery is hand digitised to match your designs, with details adjusted as you wish - All done in house by our digital artists.
- Multiple fittings to make sure garment is perfect fit - These can either be done in person or via video call.
- Messages and images sent through out to check details and keep you updated - Emails, Facebook messages and other platforms used.
Wedding Commissions
On top of our usual commissions Linen & Needle also undertake wedding commissions.
Projects we have worked on:
- Art deco beaded dress with matching gloves and detachable top layer.
- White and goldwork medieval inspired dress with matching gold and white cape.
- Gold wedding dress with separate evening dress for bride, and gold and cream waistcoats for bridal party. Green waistcoat for groom and matching waistcoats for grooms party. Silver waistcoat for wedding officiant.
- Groom & groomsman's Surcoats and matching headwear.
Commissions From All of History
We don't just work on medieval designs here at Linen & Needle, we also work on a range of other time periods, styles and fashions.

- Tudor dress for Holland museum
- European medieval dress for engagement party
- 1930's day dress for vintage event

Children's Commissions
At Linen & Needle we don't leave out the little ones. Why should you have all the fun of dressing up.
Some of the children's wear commissions we have completed are:
- Matching child's chaperon hat to match adult chaperon.
- Outfits for Bishop Wells Abbey Training centre. Girls dresses, aprons and coifs. Boys shirts and coifs. This included wheelchair accessible garments.
- Outfits for MSC mini members including Dresses, surcoats, Coifs, Vests, shirts, braise and hoses.
